Speciality

Sedimentary Geology (Sedimentology and Morphodynamics of Sediment-Gravity-Flows)

Professional Interests

Sedimentology and morphodynamics of sediment-gravity-flows

Most of sandstone and/or conglomerates deposited under deep-sea environments are consequences of sediment-gravity-flows (turbidity currents, debris-flows, etc.), which are major sediment transport processes in deep-sea environments. I am currently working on investigation of dynamics and depositional processes of sediment-gravity-flows by analyzing sedimentary structures, grain-size and grain-fabric of their deposits. I would like to seek methodology to reconstruct paleo-environmental fluctuations from deep-sea deposits through gravity-flow sedimentology. I am also interested in taphonomic studies of fossils.
